Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a whistleblower provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, Maxwell was provided directions about instructing her contacts to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges reportedly provided to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most detainees are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether he had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the move or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
